For all the animations I made sofar with the animateit script I used the following settings: Quality 2000, FR 0.6, OS 2 no matter what size I wanted. This particular animation is 300x300. I did not change the size after the render just assembled all frames in Animation Shop. Do you mean that you have problems to render more than 50 frames? Perhaps it has to do with memory. Did you choose a high number for Oversampling? imho it's seldom necessary to use the default setting of OS 4 for animations. I doubt that you can see the difference. For my next animation I'll make a test render of a few frames with OS set to 1 and an other with OS 2 to check if I can see a difference. An animation for online viewing doesn't need print quality settings.
Thanks! I have a marble that I have been dying to animate. I'm going to try that tonight. I have always left the filter radius and the oversample set to default, .4 and 2 respectively. I think it was the flame size that causes me problems.
I have no problems with the pc, I have a 2 gig dual core with an Intel 6600 processor. This thing lets me render two Apo flames at 6000, play with UF, and browse the net - all at the same time with no lag. I plan on adding another stick to bump it to 3 gigs one of these days. And maybe ... Oh crap, I sound like a geek, don't I? LOL
